Manufacturing in 2017
Manufacturing technologies are evolving fast, but never as fast as they as will in 2017. For one, manufacturers are rushing to include advances in technology, such as artificial intelligence and advanced analytics, in their manufacturing processes. Needless to say, the impact of these new technologies is changing the manufacturing sector altogether.
You also have to keep in mind that global political climate matters too since they also impact the sector. The US and European politics surely is a part of the recent changes that needs to be noted. For a deeper look into these and more manufacturing trends to watch out for in 2017, read on.
Trade Tensions – Recent political changes in both the US and Europe have put the freedom of international trade in question. One of the example of change that happened is the presidency of Donald Trump. It has also been known that the administration of Donald Trump is not eager to know some of the trade deals that happened in the past administration.
One such deal is the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TTP), a trade deal between the US and 12 Pacific-Rim countries. Donald Trump is not eager with the TTP as a trade deal, thus, it is now good as dead. A deal with Europe which is the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership is also at risk in the administration of Donald Trump. Although it is not dead in the water like the TTP, it too has stalled, and its future is uncertain. In Europe, on the other hand, the biggest political change has been the withdrawal of the UK from the European Union. The continental Europe and UK will surely have a hard time with regard to withdrawals since UK has already withdraw from the European Union. The withdrawal of U from European Union has also affected the relationship between several European countries. The negotiation of companies with other companies is also very important so that relationship with each other will become normal. This explains why small business manufacturers need to adapt new business environment so that there will be a good relationship with each other.
Computerized Maintenance Management System or simply known as CMMS will also bring new change this 2017. In order to keep the manufacturing process moving, it is important that routine maintenance will be conducted by businesses. Repairing a manufactured tool and fixing a broken window can be comparable in this process. Regardless of the type of maintenance a company undertakes, maintenance increases efficiency, profits, and the lifespan of a production line.
Today, a CMMS system tracks, records, and stores maintenance data.
